Introduction

Welcome, everyone to The Scatterbrained Deist. My plan for this blog is for it to serve as my public journal, chronicling my random, constant changing interests, thoughts and wants.

So why "The Scatterbrained Deist"? In order to adequately explain, I must introduce myself. I am Ayse, that's pronounced "eye-sha" or just "Ice" to most of my friends and associates and even some of my family call me "Ice" playfully. I am 23 right now and will be 24 August 1st. I have been married for two years to Nigel, my best friend and best lover :). I am an Army brat, and my husband is in the military as well. We are currently stationed in Colorado and have not really decided firmly if we are going to stay here permanently. It's either here or Raleigh, my college town, or one of them...

That's another thing about me. I haven't finished college. I have about 60 credits towards a Bachelor's Degree in nothing and I am currently working on an Associate's of Applied Science for Medical Laboratory Technician. I am trying to start a real estate investing business specializing in lease purchases, and I want to get pregnant!! So, I'm scatterbrained. I am a Jack-of-all-Trades, Master-of-None. I know this is so pretentious to mention, but I am a genius (not the Kanye West kind, a real IQ-tested genius). I just want my readers to have a good idea of who I am. Because of this quality, or maybe in spite of it (?), I tend to be distracted easily and interested in everything. Which is why I haven't finished school.

I currently work at a Child Development Center here in the Springs with ages 6 weeks to 3 years. I LOVE children! I want my own so bad, but my husband is... nervous. That is another blog post, though. A subject I am sure I will be writing about at length.

Oh, and the last part. I am a deist. At least that's what my preacher uncle identified me as the last time I participated in a religious debate at a family gathering. I told him what I believe and he said "Oh, so you're a deist." I'd looked into my beliefs before and recognized the term and agreed that if I must be labeled then that was definitely the label that fit. For those that are wondering what I'm babbling on about, deism is not a religion. It is more so a school of thought that doesn't believe in organized religion or any doctrine that comes from man-written books. I do believe in intelligent design or a "God" of sorts, if you will, but I don't believe in living my life based on a book that was written by men and put together and argues over by even more men. I was raised Christian and believe that Jesus was a great moral leader and taught many good lessons. My husband was raised Baptist and holds to many of their beliefs, but agrees with me on many issues as well. I am tolerant and respectful of all religions, and quite fascinated by most really. I am only intolerant of those that down other people for what they believe. I'm not one to start arguments over religion, but I will defend my position quite aggressively if provoked.

I think that's enough for now. If you have any questions, please ask. If you have criticisms.... well, I'll take those too. I'm not afraid of differing opinions and I'm always willing to educate. I'll be back tomorrow hopefully.
